A 10 month old kitten went for a spin in the washing machine. Though it was certainly a close call, the feline friend named Molly survived the ordeal and is now safe at home.

According to BBC reports, Bethany Hall, the 11 year old owner of the kitten, said she noticed Molly through the glass door of the washing machine at her County Durham home.

Sonia Hall, Bethany’s mother, relayed her emotions upon the frightful discovery, “I was in a state of panic when I saw her, but thankfully we have one of those machines that switches off easily.

“Even then I had to wait two to three minutes until it drained, but on touching the glass I found it was warm so I thought she couldn’t possibly have survived, “said Sonia.

“When we were finally able to open the door and move away the laundry she seemed okay as she was sitting up and meowing, but her eyes were closed.”

Sonia and Bethany rushed Molly to the Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital, where Veterinarian Jacqui Molyneux stated, “Molly was brought to us in a very bad way and we thought that she wouldn’t pull through. However, she proved to be a real fighter and responded to the treatment incredibly well.”

Thankful to have the ordeal behind them and Molly back home safely, Sonia Hall added, “We’ll definitely be watching her more closely after this. The whole family thinks she’s really special and a very lucky little kitten.”
